Why Comfort Toys Still Matter in a Tech-Heavy World

Screens dominate modern childhood. But plush toys still win hearts.

And it’s not just nostalgia. It’s neuroscience.

While apps and digital games may stimulate the brain, they don’t soothe it. Plush toys do.

The American Psychological Association states that tactile experiences, like holding a soft toy, help regulate the nervous system and reduce cortisol — the stress hormone. (Source)

Kids who engage in imaginative, tactile play (like with plush toys) show stronger emotional awareness and empathy, according to child development research from Michigan State University. 

At our shop we know that in a world of tech, kids still crave comfort  something they can hug, talk to, and fall asleep beside. (the capybara plush)

Because no screen can replace the feeling of being held.
